Q:   When do I need to start using Love and Logic®?

A.   The authors have designed the program to assist parents with children as young as 9 months all the way through teenage years.  They also stress that it is NEVER too late to begin this process.  After all, it is never too late to improve  relationships and to set loving limits.

Q:   Why take a class?  Can’t I just get this information from a book?

A:   While you can definitely gain a lot of information from the many print, audio and video products created by The Love and Logic® Institute, Inc., there are many benefits of taking a class.  Parents report that they are able to discuss common frustrations, watch the authors first-hand and hear great stories to “act out” in real life, get great ideas for consequences, and gain a sense of community knowing that many parents struggle with the same issues.

Q:  What if my spouse won’t or can’t take the class...will it still work?

A: Yes.  Although it is always ideal for both parents to attend, sometimes that is not possible due to work schedules, interest level or divorce.  The authors stress that kids are resilient and will adapt to various disciplinary styles.  Most parents also report that after a spouse or partner witnesses the effectiveness of the Love and Logic® techniques, they usually show some enthusiasm to learn more.

Q:   What are the types of topics covered in the “Becoming a Love and Logic Parent®” class?

A:   In each six-week class, the topics discussed in each module are:

1 =  Raising Responsible Children

2 = The Love and Logic (C.O.O.L.) Formula

3 = “C” Stands for Control That’s Shared

4 = “O” is for Ownership of the Problem

5 = “O” is Also for Opportunity for Thinking/Decision Making

6 = “L” Stands for Let Empathy and Consequences Do the Teaching and Let’s Wrap it Up and Take It Home!

Q: What are the types of topics covered in the “Early Childhood Parenting Made Fun!®” Class?

R: In each five-week class, the topics discussed in each module are:

         1 = Handling Misbehavior without Breaking a Sweat

         2 = Teaching Kids to Listen...the First Time

         3 = Avoiding Power Struggles

         4 = Limits Create Happier Parents, Happier Kids and Happier Families

         5 = What to Do When Your Kids Leave You Speechless

Q: What if I may need to miss one of the class nights.  Can I make this up?

A:   Yes!  Since life has a way of throwing us some curve balls now and again, parents who are unable to attend a class one week may make that class up during another scheduled class.  We just ask that those who wish to make up a class contact us and let us know which night and location they plan to attend, so that we can plan accordingly for seating arrangements.  On rare occasions, space may not permit a make-up at the preferred class date.  However, all efforts will be made to find a date that works best for all considered.
