As a mom, I know the challenges parents face trying to raise kids in today’s world. Given all the pressures and truly life-and-death decisions that our children will face as they grow up—drugs, alcohol, sex—how do we raise kids with their heads on straight? How will our children handle themselves when we aren’t around to guide them? Making good choices is like anything else: it has to be learned. It starts with simple, effective techniques that develop a child’s inner compass for personal responsibility while allowing the parent to take better control of the home in healthy, loving ways. Techniques that help parents to get better results without the drain of having to yell, threaten or lecture. The “Becoming a Love and Logic Parent®” class or the new “Early Childhood Parenting Made Fun!®” class is the first step in this direction. Trained by the authors in an intensive, three-day program, I’ve had the honor to guide Colorado Springs parents through the power of the Love and Logic® philosophy as an Independent Facilitator. With a professional background of 9+ years of facilitation and a passion for the Love and Logic® philosophy, Advanced Parenting Concepts took flight. The primary goal of APC is to expose parents to this wonderful philosophy and to raise the odds for happier homes with fun and responsible children.
